Helicopter Spirals Wildly into Palm Groves at Popular California Beach
A helicopter flying over a well-attended coastal beach suddenly started spinning out of control, finally dropping height and plunging into a cluster of palm fronds as beachgoers watched.
Footage uploaded on social media show the chopper starting to spin over Huntington Beach then descending towards the border of the coast, where it ends up lodged amidst palm groves and a staircase adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Information
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five individuals were transported to a medical facility involving two individuals who were in the chopper and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the accident on Saturday.
Three people on the street were hurt. Specifics on their condition were not immediately available.
